Indian police arrest five Nepalis for stealing cash and jewelry

KATHMANDU: Indian police has arrested five Nepalis on charge of stealing cash and jewelry from an apartment in Bangalore, India, Friday.

According to The Indian Express, police recovered 9.3 lakh Indian rupees and gold and silver worth 1.9 million rupees from them.

Jewelry and cash recovered from the arrested.

The arrested have been identified as Karan Bista, Hikmat Shahi, Gorakh Kalu, Jeevan and Raju. Karan, Jeevan and Raju work as security guards in Bangalore while Gorakh and Hikmat work in Mumbai.

According to police sources, the theft took place at Ram Chandra Reddy’s apartment between October 14 and 16.

Indian police made the arrestees public amid a press meet. The robbers were said to be planning to flee to Nepal after the robbery.
