National Security Council meeting underway in Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the National Security Council is underway at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

According to Baluwatar sources, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Chief Secretary to the Government Shankar Das Bairagi, Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma and others are participating in the meeting which started some time ago.

The details about the agenda are not disclosed to the public yet.

Article 266 (1) of the Constitution provisions that there shall be a National Security Council for making recommendation to the Government of Nepal, Council of Ministers for the formulation of a policy on overall national interest, security and defence of Nepal, and for the mobilization and control of the Nepal Army.
