Man arrested with gold bracelet from TIA on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man with gold bracelets weighing 150 grams from the new parking area for international arrivals at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The arrested has been identified as Santosh Basnet, 25, of Ramechhap, currently residing in Kumarigal of Bouddha in Kathmandu. He was arrested at 9:45 am Tuesday from the parking area where he was deployed.

Police claimed the gold was brought to Kathmandu by various passengers arriving in Kathmandu from Saudi Arabia on a Jazeera Airways flight. Police suspect Tamang helped the passengers evade customs.

Police sent him to the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office for necessary investigation and action.
