If you have guts, prove your majority: NCP Chairman Nepal challenges PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Madhav Kumar Nepal has challenged Prime Minister KP Oli to prove his majority in the party if he had the guts.

Labeling PM Oli as a sinner, Nepal said, “Mind you, even Pashupatinath will not forgive a sinner,” Nepal said alleging Prime Minister KP Oli for trampling the constitution.

Nepal also lambasted PM Oli for ‘crushing’ democracy saying, “PM Oli’s unconstitutional move has been widely criticized and the people will never forgive him for his blunder and unconstitutional move.”

“If he (PM Oli) is ready to comply with the people’s aspirations, he must withdraw his decision,” Nepal said.

Nepal also alleged PM Oli for “threatening” the Election Commission (EC) to decide in his favor. “How could he claim to be the authentic party?” he queried.

“You are the first Chairman of your faction, not the NCP,” he added alleging him of “wearing the crown of a Chairman.”

According to him, the ongoing movement will continue until and unless the House of Representatives is reinstated.

The NCP dispute, he claimed, is between people for and against the constitution, democracy and the people’s achievements.

Assuring people that there will be no dispute and tussle between him and Prachanda, Chairman Nepal said, “PM Oli might be charting out a strategy to bring about split between the two leaders.

“We will abide by the rules and regulation, we are committed to the democratic policies and will remain united,” he said.
