SC orders to mention perpetrator’s in conflict victim’s identity card



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered to mention the name of the ‘perpetrator and make arrangements for the distribution conflict victim’s identity card.

The SC has also ordered to review the conflict victim identity card distributed by the government through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, saying that it does not include the issues specified by the Act and the procedure.

It has also issued a show-cause order in the name of the opposition.

Hearing the writ petition filed by advocate Gyanendra Raj Aran and others, a single bench of Justice Tej Bahadur KC ordered to distribute the identity cards mentioning the names of the perpetrators.

The apex court has also asked to stop the distribution of identity cards.

The victims had gone to the court demanding that the name of the victim and the perpetrator be mentioned while giving the identity card to the conflict victims.
