CPN (Unified Socialist) chairman Nepal urges govt to carry out probe into corruption cases

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has asked the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government to probe into the alleged corruption cases of the erstwhile government.

Inaugurating the office of Kavre district committee of the party and tea reception on the occasion of major festivals, Chairman Nepal said that there was no excuse to the rulers and the corrupt ones should be brought to book.

Attempts are made to cover the corruption cases involving Yeti Holdings, procurement of drugs against COVID-19, and others by the KP Oli Sharma-led government, the former PM said that each one involved in the embezzlement of state coffer should be probed.

Likewise, he said that the ministers from his party were directed for best performance and the ministers from the party would be recalled if we’re engaged in wrongdoing.

On the occasion, he said that the erstwhile Oli-led government allowed the export of excavated materials to India by causing extreme harm to the ecology in the Chure region and recalled that he raised voices against the Oli administration’s such move.

Chairman Nepal was of the view that the Oli-led government was toppled for its mockery of the republic.

Saying that his party would lead the government in Province-1 while the party was the largest force in the Sudurpaschim Province Assembly, Chairman Nepal argued that the CPN (Unified Socialist) was larger than the CPN UML in Province 2.

Chairman Nepal instructed the leaders and cadres to discharge their responsibility properly.

Nepal also asked the party leaders and cadres to move ahead by forging good relations with the government coalition partners and others in the upcoming local level election.

During the event, Nepali Congress central committee member Shiva Prasad Humagain lauded the role of leader Nepal for his struggle against the regressive step of the erstwhile government to safeguard the hard-earned achievements.
