Man arrested with explosive materials

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man with explosive materials in Lamjung.

The arrested has been identified as Hariram Baniya, 61, living in Jhingekhola, Besisahar, Lamjung, for the past 22 years. Police said Baniya is a permanent resident of Siddharthnagar Municipality- 7, Rupandehi.

Police raided Baniya’s shop where he sold medicinal herbs after they were tipped-off that he was involved in sale and distribution of explosives.

The police team recovered 4 kg of sulfur, 16 kg of soda and various types of explosive materials that were concealed in the shop on Friday evening.

Police are further investigating the case.
