Tribeni Tole organizes security awareness program targeting Dashain



KATHMANDU: Tribeni Tole Sudhar Samaj has organized an awareness program in collaboration with Tribeni Youth Club and Metropolitan Police Sector, Katunje to prevent possible incidents of thefts and robberies in the community targeting the Dashain festival on Saturday.

Talking to Khabarhub, Chairman of Tribeni Tole Sudhar Samaj Ganesh Ghimire said locals should keep a round-the-clock vigil on criminal activities including robberies and thefts as they might occur during the festive seasons.

“Locals should report to the police as well as the tole security committee if any suspicious activities are found taking place in the community. House and street lights should be switched on during nights,” said Ghimire.

Speaking at the program, Ramesh Rai, Sub Inspector of Metropolitan Police Sector, Katunje said this awareness program under the community-police partnership aims at controlling criminal activities including thefts and robberies especially during festive seasons.

“Thieves are looking for opportunities during the festive seasons since most of the people od go to visit their relatives leaving their houses unattended. Such criminal incidents can be controlled only when both communities and police personnel cooperate with each other,” said Rai.

When asked security plan, Rai said a security team will be mobilized thrice a day – in the morning, day and night – to make sure no criminal activities will take place in the tole.

Similarly, Govinda Osti, the chairman of Tribeni Youth Club, informed that the program has been organized to prevent the incidents of thefts and robberies targeting Dashain. Youths of the club will be mobilized in the tole throughout the festival to make sure no such criminal activities will take place.

Meanwhile, a three-member tole security committee has also been formed under the coordination of Rajendra Dahal which will be responsible for coordinating with the police personnel in case of criminal activities. Raju Dahal and Dipak Pokharel are the members in the committee.
