15 arrested while trying to show black flag to MCC delegation in Koteshwor

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 15 protesters gathered to show a black flag to Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) delegation led by Vice President Fatima Sumar.

While the MCC Vice President was returning after meeting with UML Chairperson KP Oli at his residence in Balkot Thursday, protesters opposing MCC tried to show a black flag to the MCC delegation in Koteshwor.

According to the police, 15 people belonging to various parties and organizations have been arrested.

The arrested have been kept at Koteshwor Police Station. Meanwhile, a demonstration took place outside the police station demanding the release of those arrested. Protesters picketed the police station and chanted slogans against the MCC, demanding the immediate release of those arrested.
