895 Nepalis arrive home from Afghanistan, 34 still awaiting rescue



KABUL: Twenty-two Nepalis who had been stuck in transit points of different countries have arrived in Nepal.

With this, a total number of Nepali nationals arriving home from Afghanistan has reached 895.

Of the 1,000 people who have left for Nepal from Kabul, 100 are still on their way and 34 are still in Kabul awaiting rescue, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Necessary coordination is being made to rescue and repatriate more Nepali nationals awaiting rescue in Kabul,” the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

Of the 34 awaiting rescue, 12 are retired Nepal Army personnel and 22 ex-Indian Army personnel.
