KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three people with Rs 1.6 million money allegedly intended for illegal Hundi transaction from Birgunj on Wednesday.

The arrestee are Jokhan Sai Fakir, 60, Tabarakh Dewan , 45 and Umesh Sharma, 50 of Birgunj.

According to the Parsa police, they have recovered Rs 1.6 million from Dewan and Jokhan during the security checking at Birgunj-10, Ranighat.

The police have taken the alleged three in 7-day-custody for further investigation.
