KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa alias Badal has assured that the government would leave no stone unturned to nab the murderer of Baitadi teenager Bhagirathi Bhatta.
Speaking to the delegates of Nepal Students Union (NSU), a sister organization of Nepali Congress, Home Minister Thapa claimed the administration will soon reach at the crux of the matter and nab the guilty.
“The perpetrators of Bhagirathi Bhatta will soon be booked as the case is not as complicated as that of Nirmala Pant’s,” Minister Thapa told NSU delegates and confessed that in some cases, at times, it takes a longtime for the research.
Receiving the memorandum of NSU, he informed that the government’s investigation and administrations’ attention is fully focused on Baitadi now.
Hoping to get the cooperation from all, Home Minister Thapa added that provided the government gets support from all including the youths, students and civil society, it would soon come out with the culprits.
NSU leaders including President Rajeev Dhungana, General Secretary duo Baldev Timalsina, and Deepak Bhattarai had reached at Minister Thapa’s Pulchowk based quarter on Tuesday Morning.
NSU has urged the government to take a thorough and fair investigation into the case and has warned to come with stringent protest if the government failed to act as in Nirmala Pant and Samjhana BK case.
Bhagirathi Bhat, 17, of Chadepani in Dogadakedar-7, Baitadi was found murdered after rape last Wednesday. The culprit has not been identified yet.
Police have failed to identify the criminals behind the rape and murder case of Nirmala Pant that occurred on July 26, 2018.
