Market monitoring upped in Surkhet



KARNALI: The District Administration Office, Surkhet, has intensified the activities for market monitoring ahead of the major festivals. The administration has continued market monitoring in different local levels in the district for the last one week on.

Administrative Officer of District Administration Office Padamlal Lamichhane, officials of Food Technology and Quality Control Division Office, police personnel and representatives from national consumer rights forum have visited the markets for monitoring in Bheri Ganga Municipality, Gurbhakot Municipality and Simta Rural Municipality.

Information Officer of District Administration Office Shree Shumsher Rana said that substandard goods worth Rs 35,000 have been seized from the monitoring. Likewise, the monitoring team has seized some date expired goods.

The officials said that the substandard goods seized in course of monitoring have been destroyed in fire.

Chief District Officer of Surkhet Chhabilal Rijal said that market monitoring is expedited to safeguard citizen’s right to food and manage the market.
