KATHMANDU: With the end of Tuesday’s deadline given by the Election Commission (EC) to the people’s representatives to choose the new party, Madhav Kumar Nepal led CPN-Unified Socialist has seen eight districts sans elected representatives in local level.

The EC has collected the list of representatives defecting the party they were elected from to join the newly formed Unified Socialist and Democratic Socialist Party.

The people’s representatives elected at local level and province assembly of 2017 with the UML’s election symbol were allowed to join Unified Socialist if they wanted.

According to the latest verification as collected from the Province and the district EC Offices, the newly formed Unified Socialist has dropped to zero in eight districts.

The party has zero representation at the local and province level in Solukhumbu, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, Nawalpur and Gulmi districts.
