KATHMANDU: The government has slightly tweaked the age-group of the people to be vaccinated starting Tuesday.

The vaccination, which is taking place from today in all the provinces, is being administered to the people adged between 62 to 64.

Earlier, the government had decided to administer the vaccine to the people aged between 60 to 64.

The age group was changed at the eleventh hour for the districts outside the Kathmandu Valley on Monday.

However, inside the Valley, the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to the people aged betwee 60 to 64 as per the earlier decision.

Similarly, in the mountainous districts, this vaccine will be administered to the people above 55 years of age and to the age group between 18 to 64 in the region adjoining Tibet, it is learnt.

According to the Ministry of Health and  Population,  21,130,80 people have recived the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 715,163 people have been inoculated with the second dose so far.
