KATHMANDU: The Nepal Communist Party led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is likely to withdraw its support to the KP Oli-led government.
Informing journalists about the decision, the Spokesperson of the faction Narayan Kaji Shrestha indicated the possibility of withdrawing its support to the government.
He did not mean it explicitly but indicated that the party – now Maoist (Center) would withdraw its support.
The party has also demanded the immediate resignation of Prime Minister KP Oli as the Supreme Court reinstated the House of Representatives.
The CPN-UML has 120 seats in the parliament while the Maoists have 51 seats.
If the Maoists withdrew their support, the government will be in a minority.
According to the constitutional provision, if a party withdraws its support to the government, the government has to take a vote of confidence within 30 days.
