Uttarakhanda glacier outburst: 7 bodies retrieved, 125 still missing



NEW DELHI:  Seven bodies have been retrieved from the incident site missing in the floods triggered by the glacier outburst in the Indian State of Uttarakhanda, authorities said.

One hundred and twenty five are still missing in the floods, news agency Reuters quoted local officials as saying.

The floods in the Dhauliganga  River swelled up after the Alaknanda glacial burst and mixed up with the river in Joshimath.

The settlements have been at risk after the Rishiganga hydroelectricity project was swept away after the local glacial  burst in Chamoli district.
