DoRI sues five businessmen on deceit and fraud allegation worth 244 million

KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DoRI) has filed a case against five businessmen claiming Rs 24o million rupees from them on deceit and fraud allegation.

According to DoRI sources, five people including the Directors of Yadv Business Trade Link Jaya Kishore Sah, Sonalal Prasad Yadav, Sanu Kumar Shrestha, Mukesh Kumar Jha and Parameshwor Sah have been sued in Patan Hight court.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, DoRI informed that the department has claimed 2441 million rupees from the accused.

According to the department, the accused businessmen had been abstaining from paying due revenue by preparing various false documents including fake invoices without purchasing goods and services.

The department clarified that it has claimed the 100 percent fine of the principal amount the businessmen tried to evade.

DoRI has defended its decision arguing its claim is as per the Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) Act 1995.
