Paschimanchal Hotel Association organizes Bhai Tika celebrations for foreign tourists



POKHARA: The Paschimanchal Hotel Association, Pokhara organized a Bhaitika program as part of the fourth Bhaitika festival that occurs every year here during Tihar festival.

On the occasion, 20 foreigners from six countries received Bhaitika from their Nepali sisters. Girls from Rainbow Children Home, a child orphanage home, offered tika, garlands of marigold flowers, Dhaka topis and typical Tihar delicacies, including ‘Selroti’ to the tourists. The venue for the Bhaitika ritual was Mums Garden Resort at Lakeside.

The program was halted for two consecutive years due to COVID-19. Foreign tourists enthusiastically participated in the program, said the Association President Laxman Subedi. As he said, the festival aims to promote the tourism of Pokhara and conserve the essence of Nepali culture.

Tourists from China, Russia, Germany, France, Cambodia and Belarus joined the celebrations, according to program coordinator and Association’s first Vice Chair Deepak Shrestha. On the occasion, ‘Deusibhailo’ and other cultural programs, a part of the festival, also took place.
