Manisha Koirala Foundation donates essential medical supplies to KAHS

KATHMANDU: Actress Manisha Koirala has provided essential medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention, control, and treatment to the Jumla-based Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS).

The veteran actress, through her Manisha Koirala Foundation, donated 410 sets of PPEs, 350 sets of eyeglasses, 300 sets of N95 Masks, 10,000 tablet Dexona tablets, and 60 sets of reusable gowns to the Academy, said the Academy.

Academy’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Mangal Rawal said the Nepal Army facilitated in bringing the in-kind support from Kathmandu to Jumla. The Academy has extended its gratitude to the actress for her support at the time of health crisis like this.

Taking to her social networking sites, the 50-year-old actress exuded her happiness to be able to make “small efforts in times of suffering.”

The Academy, having 120 isolation beds, 12 ICU rooms, 24 HDU facilities, has been rendering treatment to COVID-19 suspected and infected people besides regular patients.

It has been drawing a good number of patients’ influx even from the urban areas in Karnali Province and its surrounding provinces, according to the Spokesperson at the Academy, Ramesh Bhattarai.

Meanwhile, Nepal Red Cross Society Jumla has also donated 10,000 sets of surgical masks and 20 sets of PPEs to the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee, Jumla.
