RPP Chair Lingden refutes reports of former king’s hands in his victory

KATHMANDU: Newly elected RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden has said that his victory was based on the votes of the delegates of the General Convention and Nirmal Niwas had no role in it.

Assuming his office at the party’s central office, Dhumbarahi on Monday, Chairman Linden said that it was unfortunate to link the results of the general convention with Nirmal Niwas and that it was an insult to his leaders, cadres and delegates.

Kamal Thapa, who was defeated in the election, had alleged in a tweet on Sunday that he had lost due to the interference of Nirmal Niwas.

Chairman Linden also said that he would work towards making the party more strong and united.

He also made it clear that he would move forward by uniting under the tutelage of party leaders including Kamal Thapa, Pashupati Shumsher Rana and Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani.
