Police Day: DSP Bhandari bags Peace Award, SI Pande gets Courageous Award



KATHMANDU: Deputy Superintendent of Nepal Police, Dharmaraj Bhandari has been conferred the ‘Purna Peace Award, 2078’ and Sub Inspector of Police Sumesh Pande the ‘Yogendra Memorial Courageous Award, 2078’ for risking life while implementing the law.

Inspector General of Nepal Police, Shailesh Thapa Chhetri, distributed the awards amidst a program organized on the occasion of 66th Police Day on Wednesday. The Police also honoured the police staff with excellent performance, people assisting police persons, and the writers.

Inspector Babindra Nembang and Superintendent Phanindra Prasai were awarded for best investigation.

Also awarded were DSP Dr Jayanti Dhungana, Police Inspector (technical) Nirusha Maharjan, Office assistant Sharmila Bhujel and Suraj Deula, among others.

Those to be honoured for cooperating in the implementation of the community-police partnership programme were Kathmandu Metropolis, Nepal Television, Sagarmatha Television, AP1 Television, Tundaldevi Senior People Committee, and Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce.
