Replacement bill on budget presented



BUTWAL: A replacement bill on budget has been presented in the Lumbini Province Assembly amidst a boycott by the major opposition CPN UML on Wednesday.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Cooperatives Krishna Dhwoj Khadka tabled the replacement bill on the new budget of Rs 40.95 billion.

Of the total budget, 33.31 percent is under current expenditure and 54.87 percent for capital expenditure.

Similarly, Rs 4.85 billion will be transferred to local levels, the budget stated.

The major opposition CPN UML insisted on obstructing Assembly business until Speaker expelled lawmakers Bimala Oli and Ajay Shahi from the post.

Earlier, UML had taken action against them. The replacement bill was passed amidst Assembly meeting obstruction by the UML.
