UML Chair Oli questions Unified Socialist leader Jhankri’s silence on Home Ministry’s statement

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has questioned the silence of CPN-Unified Socialist leader Ram Kumari Jhankri in relation to a statement issued by the Home Ministry Sunday that warned against negative publicity and activities against heads of foreign governments and their representatives.

Addressing a program held by National Youth Federation on Monday, Oli asked Jhankri, without naming her, if people were free to voice their concerns.

While posing the question, Oli was recalling the symbolic protest carried out by Jhankri months when she criticized the President for supporting then Prime Minister Oli’s move to dissolve the parliament and the government planned to arrest her. At the time Madhav Kumar Nepal and Prachanda teamed against Oli’s the dissolution of the House of Representatives. Jhankri had at that time question the same if people were free to speak.
