CPN-UML standing committee meeting underway at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is now taking place at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar.

CPN (UML)’s central office Secretary, Sher Bahadur Tamang, said that the meeting was called to hold a discussion on various issues including the Coronavirus pandemic and National Assembly candidacy.

The CPN-UML has currently 19 Standing Committee members.

Chairman Oli had formed a SC some time ago excluding senior party leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.

Meanwhile, today’s meeting is also likely to decide the party’s candidate for the National Assembly by-election.

One post is vacant in Bagmati and Lumbini.

Also, the meeting will also discuss the vote of confidence that PM Oli is taking on May 10.
