11 Committees formed for Shivaratri festival

KATHMANDU: The Pashupati Area Development Trust has formed 11 committees to organize celebration of the Maha Shivaratri festival in the Pashupati temple premises.

The committees include security management and monitoring, publicity management, observation and chandan management, accommodation and food, hermits management, cleanliness, inter-government agency coordination, fair and decoration, volunteer mobilization, data collection, among others.

Meanwhile, preparations for the festival have already begun, with cleaning of the temple premises.

The Bagmati cleaning mega campaign is also cleaning up the Pashupati temple premises today, said campaigner Kishore Singh Shahi.

The Shivaratri festival is being observed by following all health protocol in the Pashupati temple premises on coming March 11.

Visitors and devotees have to wear a mask and follow physical distancing as well as other health precautions considering the continued risk of Corona Virus, said PADT Treasurer Thapa Dr Milan Kumar Thapa.
