Four killed, two injured as cooking gas cylinder goes off in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU: Four people have died in a cooking gas cylinder explosion at Mangal Bazaar in Lalitpur district on Friday. Two others have sustained injuries in the explosion.

According to Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur, the cooking gas cylinder went off in the house of Indramani Tamrakar. The injured have been taken to Patan Hospital for treatment.

“Four dead bodies have been retrieved from the house. It’s yet to be ascertained how many people were inside the house when the incident occurred,” said SSP Kiran Bajracharya of Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur.

Deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Laxmi Tamrakar, his daughter Anjana Tamrakar, daughter-in-law Ratna Tamrakar and grandson, according to police.

The incident took place when they were preparing food.
