Nepal Television Chairman Mahendra Bista resigns



KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Television Dr. Mahendra Bista has resigned from the post. Bista tendered his resignation to the Ministry of Communications on Thursday.

Bista resigned after completing three-year of his four-year term. He met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also in charge of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and informed him of his resignation. He added he had resigned on moral grounds as he was a political appointee.

Former President of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Bista was appointed for four years under the then Communications Minister Gokul Baskota.

After submitting his resignation, Bista reached the office of Nepal Television and bid farewell to the staff.
