Locals demand fair investigation into Sujata case



CHITWAN: Locals have obstructed the east-west highway demanding a fair investigation into Sujata Bhandari case.

Sujata 23, of Rapti municipality-3, was out of contact from June 25 and found dead at Bramhasthani community forest on Sunday evening.

The incident site lies around four kilometers away from her house.

They have obstructed the road at Jhurjhure of Rapti municipality-3 from 10:00 am. The locals have also obstructed the ambulance heading towards Bharatpur Hospital carrying Sujata’s body for postmortem.

Security personnel including the Chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Om Prakash Adhikari are at the incident site.
Mayor of Rapti municipality, Prabha Baral, has been facilitating to bring the body to the hospital for postmortem after locals obstructed the ambulance carrying Sujata’s body.

Chief District Officer Prem Lal Lamichhane said that efforts are underway to resume the traffic holding discussion with locals.
