KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center, UML’s Nepal-Khanal faction and Janata Samajwadi Party’s Upendra Yadav faction have formed a joint electoral alliance in the by-elections to the National Assembly.

The alliance is fielding Dr. Khimlal Devkota as a common candidate.

Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” discussed the issue separately with UML leader Nepal and JSP Chairman Yadav on Wednesday.

Likewise, Prachanda also held talks with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba to support his party’s candidate in the NA elections.

Likewise, the CPN-UML has fielded Dr Narayan Pandey, who resigned from the Lumbini constituency.

A by-election is being held on May 20 for the vacant post of National Assembly member after Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal left the party.

UML’s KP Oli faction is fielding Badal in the by-election.
