KATHMANDU: The civil society protesting against the government’s ‘unconstitutional’ move of dissolving the House of Representatives (HoR) and the appointment of constitutional bodies.

The march of the civil society leaders that started from Lainchour reached Panipokhari before being converted into an assembly.

As the police did not permit the speakers to speak against the government, the civil society leaders addressed the gathering as a corner assembly, yet they kept on lambasting the government for its ‘regressive’ moves taking place one after another.

The participants held the placards with slogans, ‘Hon. President, where is the constitution,’ Down with totalitarianism, and ‘We don’t accept the unconstitutional appointment.’

Along with the civil society leaders, renowned writers, poets, journalists and intellects including Khagendra Sangraula, Narayan Wagle, Rajendra Maharjan had taken part in the protests.
