NCP Oli faction staging rallies from 16 different points of Valley

Around 200,000 expected to partake in mass demo



KATHMANDU: The Oli faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is staging a mass demonstration in a show of strength in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday.

The mass demonstration will take place in front of the Southern Gate of Narayanhiti Palace Museum under the slogan, ‘End of Anarchy, Geographical Integrity, Fresh Mandate for Political Stability through Development and Prosperity while Protecting the Constitution’, said Bagmati Pradesh Committee Chairman Ananda Prasad Pokharel.

Leaders and cadres of all 13 districts of Bagmati Pradesh including the Kathmandu Valley will participate in the mass demonstration, according to Pokharel.

To be started from 12 pm, top three leaders including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa alias ‘Badal’ will address the mass assembly, informed Prime Minister’s  Press Advisor Surya Thapa.

Rallies will begin from 16 different points of the capital including Bag Bazaar, Exhibition Road, Ghantaghar, Nepal Airlines, Tripureshwor, Gaushala, Maitighar, Putali Sadak, Lainchaur, Sohrakhutte, Teku, Basantapur, New Road, Gyaneshwor, Old Baneshwor before converging into the rallying point, said Thapa.

According to Pokharel, around 200,000 people will take part in the mass assembly. “Nepali people who love listening to cultural nationalism, nationalism and development will participate in the mass assembly; the number of such people will reach around 200, 000,” claimed Pokharel.

A 1,111-member mass assembly mobilization committee has been formed under the coordination of party Kathmandu Valley Coordinator Krishna Gopal Shrestha to hold the mass assembly.
