Govt ban on Biplav outfit should be lifted immediately: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias ‘Prachanda’ has said the political ban imposed on Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ should be lifted.

Talking to a television, Prachanda has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of putting a ban on the Biplav outfit without discussing it in the cabinet and the party when he was the executive chairman of the party.

Oli had to immediately lift the ban on the Biplav outfit realizing that the decision regarding the ban was taken unilaterally without consulting the party and the cabinet, said Prachanda.

“The ban was imposed on Biplav outfit even without consulting me. If the Oli-led government really wants to hold a dialogue with the Biplav outfit, it has to first lift the ban. We will support it,” said Prachanda.

Prachanda has been publically speaking in favor of Biplav outfit after the NCP was divided politically.
