Everest Premier League: Bhairahawa Gladiators thrashes Chitwan Tigers by 6 wickets



KATHMANDU: Bhairahawa Gladiators defeated Chitwan Tigers by six wickets in the fifth match, rescheduled due to wet outfield, of the Everest Premier League (EPL) played at TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on Monday.

Chasing the 165-run target set by Chitwan, Bhairahawa reached the target in 17.5 overs by losing four wickets.

For the Bhairahawa, Pradeep Airee scored 72 runs off 43 balls. Likewise, Tamim Iqbal added 40 runs, unbeaten Upul Tharanga scored 39 runs off 19 balls.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Chitwan Tigers, who topped the league table in the EPL on Monday, set a target of 165-run for Bhairahawa Gladiators. Chitwan scored 164 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing eight wickets.

Mohammad Shahzad scored 32, Karim Janat 35 and Seekkuge Prasanna 24 for Chitwan. Similarly, Bhim Sarki added 16 runs, Rajesh Pulami added 14 runs and Dilip Nath added 13 runs.

Abinash Bohara of Bhairahawa took 3 wickets while Kushal Malla took 2 wickets. Dhammika Prasad, Durgesh Gupta, and Krishna Karki took equal 1-1 wickets.
