KATHMANDU: A petition is being prepared to be filed in the Supreme Court demanding that the 11 judges on the current roster not be included in the Constitutional Bench to hear House of Representatives (HoR) dissolution case.

Advocate Raja Ram Ghimire is preparing to file a petition seeking removal of Justices Deepak Karki, Mira Khadka, Harikrishna Karki, Bishwambhar Shrestha, Ishwar Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, Anil Sinha, Prakash Man Singh Raut, Sapna Malla Pradhan, Tej Bahadur KC and Bamkumar Shrestha from the Constitutional Bench.

The petitioner cites the clash of interests of the 11 judges in the HoR dissolution case. Ghimire in the petition will demand to constitute a bench with judges whose interests do not clash in the case.

The petition draft states, “I humbly request that a constitutional bench be constituted without the above judges, taking into account the global code of conduct for judges approved by the United Nations Economic and Social Council.”
