Police arrest 10 including manager of CMG casino in Tahachal

KATHMANDU: Police arrested 10 people, including a casino operator, on charges of involving Nepalis in gambling.

The Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, arrested them from the CMG Casino of Platinum Hotel at Tahachal, Kathmandu Thursday afternoon.

Those arrested are Casino Manager Mahesh Malla, Assistant Manager Kamal Dev Chaudhary, Ajay Yadav and Sachin Wagle.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Apil Bohara, people playing inside the casino have also been arrested.

Among the arrested are Ranjit Kumar Jaiswal of Motihari India, Sohan Prasad, Mumtaz Mian of Betiya, Bihar, Sheikh Murtuja of Medanapur, Calcutta, India, Raj Kumar Singh of Dhansha Janakpur-13 and Tinku Prasad of Bara.

Bohara said an amount of Rs. 22 lakh 96 thousand 980 have been recovered from them.
