Refusing to board a government chopper, Biplav coming to Kathmandu by a vehicle

KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal, Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav” has refused to board the helicopter provided by the government to come to Kathmandu.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa “Badal” had instructed the government authorities to bring Biplav to Kathmandu by helicopter.

Sources said Biplav, who is currently out of Kathmandu Valley, is coming to Kathmandu in a self-arranged vehicle.

Home Ministry sources said that the government had kept a helicopter on standby to bring Biplav to Kathmandu.

He refused to use the helicopter as using a government chopper after staying underground for two years will send a negative message to the people.

On Friday, the government and the Biplav group are formally signing an agreement that would pave the way for the latter to join mainstream politics.

Prime Minister KP Oli and Biplav are sharing the same stage to address a program in Kathmandu on Friday.

The government and the group on Thursday reached a three-point agreement.
