NC won’t accept appointments in constitutional bodies: NC leader Koirala

KATHMANDU: Central Working Committee (CWC) member of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) Shekhar Koirala has vehemently stated the appointments made in the constitutional bodies are unacceptable.

Posting a Facebook message on Thursday morning leader Koirala said the appointments made in the constitutional bodies by the Oli-led government are unconstitutional and driven by ill-intent.

Koirala has demanded that all the appointments made by violating the Constitution must the scrapped without delay.

As many as 38 including Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Prem Kumar Rai took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.

A Constitutional Council meeting held on December 15 had recommended as many 38 individuals for the appointment in various constitutional bodies.

The parliamentary hearing could not take place after President Bidya Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR) on the recommendation of the Prime Minister on December 20.
