DANG: Police have arrested 12 youths in connection with a suspicious death of a young man who had gone to celebrate friend’s birthday at a hotel in Ghorahi, Dang.
According to District Police Chief SP Suresh Kafle, Ganesh Poudel, 21 of Ghorahi-17, Gulariya who had gone to celebrate birthday was found dead at 8 pm on Thursday while undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
SP Kafle, informed that Poudel had arrived at the Friends and Family Hotel at Ghorahi 15 on Wednesday at the invitation of his friend Navin Giri.
According to SP Kafle, Poudel sustained a head injury. Poudel’s family has lodged a complaint as the death was found suspicious.
“After Poudel lost consciousness, the matter was not reported to the police in time and he was taken to Butwal for treatment at 2 pm on Thursday,” SP Kafle said, adding, “12 friends of the deceased have been arrested for inquiry.”
According to a source, the arrested youth had given a statement to the police that Poudel fell from the roof and became unconscious after consuming alcohol.
