Light won’t go out during Tihar: NEA MD Ghising

KATHMANDU: Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has said that the Tihar festival will remain illuminated as there is more production of electricity than the demand this time.

Managing Director Ghising has said that the demand is expected to go up to 1,500 megawatts during Tihar while the power production has reached up to 1,600.

Around this time last year, it was projected that the demand would reach up to 1,300 megawatts but the real demand was only 1,100 megawatts.

Even though the demand of electricity is expected to be high, the real consumption may not reach so high due to the closure of all the factories and industries during the festival.
