2 patients infected with ‘Black Fungus’ successfully treated at TUTH



KATHMANDU: Two patients infected with ‘Black Fungus’ have been successfully treated at the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

There are three patients infected with black fungus in the hospital, said Dr. Niraj Bam of Teaching Hospital.

Both the infected people underwent surgery within a period of 10 days.

Dr. Urmila Gurung, who was involved in the operation, said that the operation was delayed as the condition of the other was critical. Earlier, black fungus surgery was also performed at Bir Hospital.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 12 people have been found infected with black fungus in Nepal so far.
