KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli inaugurated Nepal Army’s semi-annual meeting of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of all Divisions on Wednesday.

In his inaugural address, the Prime Minister lauded the professionalism, diligence and sense of duty of the army and expressed his confidence that the strategic level meeting would lay a solid foundation for the future course of action and the action plan of Nepal Army (NA).

Speaking on the occasion, Chief of Army Staffs (CoAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa reiterated the need of institutionalizing change and establishing a work culture to achieve the goal of developing NA as a strong, capable and robust institution.

CoAS Thapa expressed his belief that the meeting would play an important role in determining the future course of action for necessary reforms, consolidation and sustainability of the institution.

The GOCs and the Headquarters present the review and their strategies ahead in such meetings organized twice a year.
