KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali is planning a Delhi trip in mid-January to boost partnership in various sectors including development projects.
India has been willing to engage with the government in Kathmandu to kick start pending development and infra projects despite internal bickering within the ruling Nepal Communist Party, Indian media reported.
Recently, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who was on a visit to Nepal, had extended a formal invitation to Minister Gyawali to visit India.
According to sources, Minister Gyawali will hold meetings with high-ranking leaders including the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Affairs Minister during his visit to India.
The main objective of his visit will be to continue the dialogue between Nepal and India and to take the existing disputes through dialogues to consensus.
Gyawali’s will be the first high-level visit to Delhi from Kathmandu in over a year and he will lead the Nepali delegation at the sixth meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission.
