Three arrested for being involved in illegal trade of uranium-like stone



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three people on charges of illegally trading uranium-like polished stone.

A team of the Metropolitan Crime Branch arrested Pradip Ghimire, 31, Rajendra Pariyar, 31, of Nuwakot and Ranjit Karki, 36, of Futung, Tarkeshwar Municipality, Kathmandu, while they were trading the contraband by saying it was uranium from a hotel in Balaju, Kathmandu.

Police have recovered 1,200 grams of the contraband from them. According to police, they were preparing to sell the stone at the rate of Rs. 20 million per kilogram.
