Plane hits warthog on runway

RANJHA: A plan belonging to Sita Air hit a warthog on runway while taking off Nepalgunj Airport for Simkot, Humla on Tuesday morning.

Airport chief Subash Jha informed that the plane with 17 passengers aboard was about to take off at 7:00am as a warthog scampered on the runway, colliding with wheels.

However, no accident occurred. All passengers along with crew members are safe. After the pilot felt something wrong on wheels as the plane was about to take off, he stopped it and found a warthog torn apart on runway.

As the tyre on front wheel was pierced, the plane has been kept out of the runway. The airport was closed for a while to remove the shreds.

The bushes around Nepalgunj Airport are a home to wild animals which are nuisance for quite a while for air service.
