Three French  mountaineers missing in Khumbu region



SOLUKHUMBU: Three French citizens, who had arrived to scale Khanteka Mountain peak in Khumbu region in the district, have gone missing.

They have gone missing for the last six days, said District Police Office, Solukhumbu.

According to Police Inspector of DPO, Solukhumbu Kabit Katwal, those missing in the Khumbu region are French citizens Thomas, Grabriel and Louis.

A team of eight mountaineers including these three French citizens had left for climbing Khanteka peak through Holiday Himalayan Treks and Expedition Pvt on October 4.

A search operation is underway with a chopper of Kailash Air since Monday after they went out of contact from October 26.

Other five mountaineers have come into contact.
