KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) has proposed the provision for people to get basic training before getting party membership.

Party organizational report presented by party general secretary Ishwor Pokharel in ongoing party statute general convention that started on Friday in Godawari, Lalitpur contains the proposal in this regard.

The proposal stressed the need for party membership expansion. It also stated that the attraction of youths to party has increased after 20 December 2020 and there is a need to link them with party activities.

The general convention that will conclude on Sunday will endorse party political report, organizational report and statute amendment proposal. Over 6,000 representatives are participating in it.

Various 10 groups are scheduled to discuss all three proposals today itself.
