SC orders to release those arrested protesting road expansion



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered to release those arrested while protesting against the road expansion in Balaju area.

A division bench of justices Deepak Kumar Karki and Prakash Man Raut ordered the government to release the arrested locals of Balaju.

The verdict reads that arresting the protestors without genuine cause was not justified.

It further states that there was no justified reason to hold the people who were protesting to save their properties.

Locals Suman Sayami, Jujukaji Maharjan, Suman Ghimire, Sushil Ghimire, Prakash Maharjan, Birendra Maharjan among others were arrested last Wednesday. RSS
