Sale of alcohol, meat prohibited around Pashupatinath Temple



KATHMANDU: Authorities have started to control the sale and consumption of meat and alcohol at the Pashupatinath Temple area.

Police along with the ward office have removed some meats and alcohol shops from the Sifal area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7.

Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) had not been able to control meat and alcoholic business in the area.

The removal of such shops has come under the campaign to make the Pashupati area meat and alcohol-free zone.

It has been learned that as many as 500 alcohol and meat shops are currently being operated in the surroundings of the Pashupati Temple area.
