Half a dozen traders face music for selling outdated goods

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested half a dozen traders on the charge of selling outdated goods.

A team of the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQC) rounded up five traders in Saptari and one in Siraha districts.

During the monitoring, a large amount of outdated goods, most of them without price-list, were seized from Ameshwar Grocery Shop, Dipa Grocery Shop and Asharam Pauroti Uddhyog based in Saptakoshi municipality-1, informed Suresh Kumar Singh, the chief of the DFTQC.

Similarly, outdated beer were recovered from Shree Krishna Hotel and Gupta Grocery Shop in Saptakoshi-1 and destroyed.

Likewise, the outdated goods were also seized from Shiva Grocery Shop. Outdated cooking oil, spices, glucose, among other goods were seized from the shop.
